The pieces in this series are portraits of individuals who have inspired or evoked some strong emotional response in me. Some I have know all my life and others I know only through the media and history. I have explored those emotions by creating portraits of them use pen, ink and collage techniques. The portraits are abstracted to allow for a unique and personal experience for each viewer. The viewer can mentally fill in the negative spaces to see the image as it relates to their own personal experiences.
